BillingBuilder™
BillingBuilder™,Our web based billing module is one stop shopping for agencies looking to bill for the services they provide. Foothold’s Build Your Own Billing module allows users to configure billing files for dozens of payers in addition to the direct link to Medicaid and Medicare already built into the software. Your agency’s clinical and programmatic data will flow seamlessly from the AWARDS electronic chart into the proper structure in the billing module. From there, you can use the module to create claims to be paid.
AWARDS establishes a more direct relationship between program services and billing activities. Because both fiscal and program service staff rely on a single system for billing-related information, there are fewer opportunities for errors in communication and less time and energy is expended on internal reporting of this information. This results in more internal control and greater transparency in the billing process.
How it Works Using BillingBuilder™ for billing links your agency’s case management and client tracking activities directly to reimbursement for services. AWARDS can be used to track receivables and payments, to tie revenue information to program service information, and to bill Medicaid, Medicare, third party insurances and self-payment from clients. You can even use AWARDS 270/271 to check eligibility electronically.
Invoices generated for a payer can either be converted into an 837I or 837P file format for electronic submission to the payer, converted into a HCFA 1450 form for paper claim submission, or printed out as individual paper invoices to be handed or mailed to the client.
The agency can customize how the BillingBuilder™ is used by defining billing procedures, specifying the documentation requirements, and managing the rates for each payer. Billing types with no specified rules may also be configured so that bulk invoice batches may be generated manually. What is Tracked BillingBuilder™ tracks service authorization information including the period covered, number and type of procedures authorized, and provider credentials. This information is linked to the client’s entitlements/insurances records, the program appointments calendar, invoice creation, and the tickler system. Basic coordination of benefits rules can be established in the client’s entitlements records as well, determining the order in which invoices are created for clients with multiple payers. BillingBuilder™ can be used to upload and read electronic remittance files and track remittance information – including payment and denials from insurances and self-payments and co-payments from clients. BillingBuilder™ tracks re-billing for services that are denied and captures services that were not billed previously due to insufficient service documentation or missing client information. The Accounts Receivable module contains reports on outstanding invoices, payments received, and adjustment reasons. BillingBuilder™ may be used to track the total cost of service and the amount of revenue generated by a service across multiple payers, as well as track client payment history. ReportBuilder™ The Billing Services Report is a comprehensive do-it-yourself report writer that includes information from throughout the client record, service record, and billing process to show potential and actual revenue from the time an appointment is made through the receipt of payment. Pricing There is additional support and an additional cost associated with BillingBuilder™.
